Free Traffic Sources
It will take some hard work to create free traffic sources. But free traffic sources tend to be long term traffic.
Compared to paid traffic sources, free traffic sources usually ends up accumulating over time. Where as Paid traffic sources will stop once you stop paying!
To find your free traffic sources all you have to do is think of where your readers usually hang out.
but this process tends to be the hardest of all. That is why there are awesome tools to help you do this easily.
Social Media
There are a lot of platforms you can use to drive traffic to your blog.
The most popular ones are:
- Facebook share your articles on a Facebook page or group to get readers sharing.
- Twitter tweet your articles and engage in conversations with other people talking about the same topic
- Google+ follow those who interest you and also comment on those who are similar interest
- Pinterest for every image you have on your blog pin it onto a Pinterest board to get exposure.

Forums
Another free way to increasing blog traffic is to comment on forums. There are already many discussions on forums so jump in and share your thoughts.
My signature on warriorforum
Place a link back to your blog on your signature and whenever you post, your link will be seen by many users.
Find forums in your niche and register to the top 5 forums and post there everyday. You will be amazed how much traffic you are able to drive from those forums.
Video Traffic
YouTube to drive traffic
Since Google has bought out YouTube, any videos you post on YouTube will be instantly ranked.
It is best to create a Youtube Channel to upload your videos and drive traffic from there.
A great example is to create video tutorials to provide a solution to your readers.
Free Traffic Engagement
A lot of people are having trouble finding the right targeted traffic.
What I use is BuzzBundle to find potential conversations across forums, blogs, social media and Q&A sites so I can start a conversation with them.
This allows me to send out links that I think is valuable to them therefore attracting the readers back to my blog.
You can try using BuzzBundle for free to see if you like it.
Paid Traffic Sources
It is important to know that paid traffic sources can drive a lot of traffic to your website, but depending on the quality of the traffic it might not convert well.
The key to success in paid traffic sources is to target the right readers.
Paid Per Click (PPC)
I would say one of the best PPC ads to increase blog traffic is Facebook Ads. I have used Facebook ads and saw a lot of potential in converting leads.
This is because the traffic is so targeted to my niche that I am able to have high conversion rates and low Clicks Per Cost (CPC).
How to get Low CPC?
With Facebook ads, they have a power editor that allows you to import Facebook ID’s and Emails to only show your advertisements to those specific users.
By specifying those target users, your CPC will eventually decrease because of the high conversion rates.
How to find those target users?
I use an amazing tool called Social Lead Freak. It allows me to search through Facebook and Google+ for users that are interested in my keywords.
For example, I can search for everyone in a dog lovers group or cat lovers group. I will know instantly that all the members in those groups are dog lovers or cat lovers.
This allows me to have control of who I target my advertisements to. Making the conversion rates increase and CPC decrease.
Banner Ads
Banner ads are another solution to increase blog traffic. But the only problem with banner ads is that you cannot control specific readers unlike PPC Facebook Ads.
However, you can control where you want to display your ads depending on the website you have your banner on.
A great tool to use is BuySellAds.
BuySellAds analytics
They have analytics to show how well your advert is performing. Notice the low click through rate? It is hard to design a banner ad the has a high click through rate.
That is why I like to use SocialLeadFreak and PPC Ads better.
